Show Rules

Eligible Models

Disclaimer

The show hall is a no smoking facility. Smoking (which includes vaping) is not allowed within the building or within 20 feet of any door or window.

No pets are allowed inside the show hall with the exception of service animals.

Alcoholic beverages may not be brought into the show hall by Michigan state law.

Please be courteous to your fellow entrants and show staff.

Do not handle any model that is not yours without asking permission first. If you need space in the show ring to place your model, please request the owner to move it or a judge.

If a model is presented in the show ring lying down, the judge may turn it over to inspect the other side.

Judges' decisions are FINAL. You may quietly ask for a judge's comments once the class is over, but arguments about the placings will not be tolerated.

Any person or animal creating a disturbance will be asked to leave the show hall immediately with no refunds.

Any custom model horse (a factory mass-produced plastic, china, cold-cast porcelain, metal, or factory resin model equine) that was customized by a non-factory artist  before the year 2000 may be entered.

A vintage custom that has been recently repaired or restored is eligible to compete, but not if it has been altered away from the original artist's intent.  Examples:  Replacing worn out hair with new hair is fine, but not if the hair has been replaced with epoxy.  Touching up dinged or rubbed paint is fine, but not if the color of the horse is changed or markings added/subtracted.

In halter classes - No tack if it can be avoided, please.  We understand that there may be cases where the bridle/halter has adhered to the horse such that removing it would damage the model.

We ask that you identify your horse with a stringed tag around one ankle. Please write your horse’s name and your initials on one side, and your horse’s breed, gender, and year of creation (if known; otherwise, your best guess at the decade) on the other side.

When putting your horse in the ring, please have the tag’s breed/gender/year of creation side up.

If you are unsure of the year your custom model was created please make your best guess. (There’s a chance it might be reclassified, if our show staff has a solid reason to believe it was created in a different decade.)

All entrants and attendees of An Autumn to Remember agree that the show staff and attendees, as well as the personnel of the Wayne County Fairgrounds, are not and shall not be responsible for any liability loss including theft, personal injury, or property damage arising out of or in connection with An Autumn to Remember.
